Interviewing Skills Training Programme

Overview:
This programme will guide the participants through the selection and interview process. They will avoid the pitfalls encountered by untrained interviewers such as reacting to personality, changing the job to fit the participants, and bargaining on terms and conditions.
The programme will be presented in a practical manner, with workshops on preparing competencies, and mock interviews will be carried out to re-enforce skills acquired.

Objectives
- To give the participants an overview of all relevant legislation
- To help the participants to develop the ability to conduct recruitment interviews more effectively
- To enable the participants to understand the need for competency based questioning techniques to ensure there is no unfair bias in the interview process
- To demonstrate to the participants the various skills and techniques available to interviewers
- To enable the participants to identify the key attributes of the ideal candidate for a position

Training Methods
The course combines a unique combination of interactive sessions, discussion groups, video presentations and management exercises using the best and latest training aids available.

As this programme is designed for a small group, it will be highly customised to the needs of the individual participants, and will involve one-on-one consultation by the Irish Business Training, Training Consultant.
