Skills Training Programme
Overview:
This programme will guide the participants through the selection and interview
process. They will avoid the pitfalls encountered by untrained interviewers
such as reacting to personality, changing the job to fit the participants,
and bargaining on terms and conditions.
The programme will be presented in a practical manner, with workshops on preparing
competencies, and mock interviews will be carried out to re-enforce skills
acquired.
Objectives
- To give the participants an overview of all relevant legislation
- To help the participants to develop the ability to conduct recruitment interviews
more effectively
- To enable the participants to understand the need for competency based questioning
techniques to ensure there is no unfair bias in the interview process
- To demonstrate to the participants the various skills and techniques available
to interviewers
- To enable the participants to identify the key attributes of the ideal candidate
for a position
Training Methods
The course combines a unique combination of interactive sessions,
discussion groups, video presentations and management exercises using
the best and latest training aids available.
As this programme is designed for a small group, it will
be highly customised to the needs of the individual participants, and
will involve one-on-one consultation by the Irish Business Training, Training
Consultant.
The programme has been designed to incorporate Tutor Presentations,
Discussion, Workshops and Role-Plays.
A full range of support material will be provided to all participants
